Error when plotted against the probability of its occurrence, we get normal probability distribution curve.<\/p>\r\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-423 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/study.madeeasy.in\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/07\/accidental-errors.jpg\" alt=\"Accidental errors\" width=\"264\" height=\"169\" \/><\/p>\r\n<ul style=\"text-align: justify;\">\r\n<li>Error = Measured value \u2013 true value.<\/li>\r\n<li>But as the true value of a measured quantity is never known, therefore true error will also be not known.<\/li>\r\n<li>Therefore in theory of probability, a value known as most probable value is commonly used. It is the value which is more close to the true value than any other value. It has more chances of being true.<\/li>\r\n<li>The difference between the measured value and most probable value is known residual error (variation).<\/li>\r\n<li>The frequency of residual error is depicted from probability distribution curve.<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-424 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/study.madeeasy.in\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/07\/low-precision.jpg\" alt=\"Low Precision\" width=\"701\" height=\"217\" \/><\/p>\r\n<ol style=\"text-align: justify;\">\r\n<li>The positive and negative errors are equal in size and frequency, as the curve is symmetrical.<\/li>\r\n<li>The small errors are more frequent than larger errors.<\/li>\r\n<li>A very large errors seldom occurs.<\/li>\r\n<\/ol>\r\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Gaussian Distribution\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\r\n<ul style=\"text-align: justify;\">\r\n<li>The normal or Gaussian distribution is the most important of all types of distribution.
