But in small signal amplifiers, BJT exhibits piecewise linearity, or it behaves as a linear element. Since BJT behaves as a linear element, in small signal amplifiers, the output signal will be distortionless. In large signal amplifiers, a transistor behaves as a non-linear element, due to which equal changes in base current do not produce proportionally equal changes in collector current, and the output signal gets distorted. A large signal amplifier has large AC output current and voltage, and also it can supply greater AC output power to the load; hence, it is useful as a power amplifier.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
Based upon the value of signal variation, amplifiers can be classified into two types: (i) Small signal amplifier (ii) Large<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":1,"featured_media":0,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"closed","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"footnotes":""},"categories":[1796,5],"tags":[1806],"class_list":["post-6120","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-rectifiers","category-ee","tag-classification-of-amplifier"],"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.madeeasy.in\/study\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/6120","targetHints":{"allow":["GET"]}}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.madeeasy.in\/study\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.madeeasy.in\/study\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/types\/post"}],"author":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.madeeasy.in\/study\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/users\/1"}],"replies":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.madeeasy.in\/study\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/comments?post=6120"}],"version-history":[{"count":0,"href":"https:\/\/www.madeeasy.in\/study\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/6120\/revisions"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.madeeasy.in\/study\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media?parent=6120"}],"wp:term":[{"taxonomy":"category","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.madeeasy.in\/study\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/categories?post=6120"},{"taxonomy":"post_tag","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.madeeasy.in\/study\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/tags?post=6120"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
