x &lt; b and<\/li>\n<li>f(a) = f(b),<br \/>\nThen there exists at least one value of x, say c, where a &lt; c &lt; b such that f\u2032(c) = 0.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><strong> Note:<\/strong> Rolle\u2019s theorem will not hold good.<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>If f(x) is discontinuous at some point in the interval a &lt; x &lt; b,<br \/>\nthen there exist at least one value c of x lying in the open interval a &lt; x &lt; b such thatf\u2032(c) = f(b) &#8211; f(a) \/ b &#8211; a<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h3><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Cauchys-Mean-Value-Theorem\"><\/span>Cauchy\u2019s Mean Value Theorem<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<p>If f(x) and g(x) are two real-valued functions defined on [a, b] and,<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>f(x) and g(x) are continuous in [a, b]<\/li>\n<li>f(x) and g(x) are derivable in (a, b) and<\/li>\n<li>g\u2032(x) \u2260 0 \u2200 x \u2208 (a, b)<br \/>\nThen there exists least one point c \u2208 (a, b), such that,f'(c) \/ g'(c) = f(b) &#8211;
