Operand may present in register, memory, or within the instruction. Effective address of operand is computed using the addressing mode. <br \/><br \/><\/p>\r\n<h2>Types of Addressing Modes<\/h2>\r\n<p><strong>1. Implied Mode:<\/strong> Operands are specified implicitly in the definition of the instruction.<\/p>\r\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Instruction<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-50 aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/study.madeeasy.in\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/06\/instructions.png\" alt=\"Operation\" width=\"78\" height=\"32\" \/><\/p>\r\n<p><em><strong>Example<\/strong>: <\/em>Zero-address instructions (stack operations ADD and SUB). <br \/><strong>2. Immediate Addressing Mode:<\/strong><\/p>\r\n<ul>\r\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none;\">\r\n<ul>\r\n<li>In this operand value is present in the instruction.<\/li>\r\n<li>This mode is used to define the use of constants or set initial values of variables.<\/li>\r\n<li><em><strong>Example<\/strong>:<\/em> int <em>x <\/em>= 123;\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 \/\/ high level <br \/>MOV <em>R<\/em><sub>1<\/sub>, 133 \/\/ assembly language<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n<p><strong>3. Direct Addressing:<\/strong><\/p>\r\n<ul>\r\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none;\">\r\n<ul>\r\n<li>Address field contains the effective address of the operand.<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-51 aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/study.madeeasy.in\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/06\/direct-addressing.png\" alt=\"Direct Addressing\" width=\"281\" height=\"156\" \/><\/p>\r\n<ul>\r\n<li><em><strong>Example<\/strong>: <\/em>MOV <em>R<\/em><sub>1<\/sub>, [1000] \/\/ Assembly language <br \/>Instruction has memory address 1000. At location 1000, the memory address of operand is available.<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n<p><strong>4. Register Addressing:<\/strong> <br \/>(<em>i<\/em>) It is similar to direct addressing.
