They undergo large permanent strains, large reduction in area before fracture.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>e.g. Lead, mild steel, copper<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Brittle Material :<\/strong> If post elastic strain is less than 5%. It is called brittle material.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Fail with only little elongation after the proportional limit is exceeded.<\/li>\n<li>Very less reduction in area before fracture<\/li>\n<li>e.g. Bronze, glass<\/li>\n<li>\u2018Mild steel\u2019 more elastic than \u2018Rubber\u2019.
