In low <a href=\"https:\/\/study.madeeasy.in\/subjects\/what-is-power-generation\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">power<\/a> electrical machines, magnetic field is produced by permanent magnets. But in high-power electrical ma<input id=\"in-category-5-2\" checked=\"checked\" name=\"post_category[]\" type=\"checkbox\" value=\"5\" \/>\u00a0Electrical Engineeringchinery and transformers, coupling magnetic field is produced by electric current.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-4618 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/study.madeeasy.in\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/04\/magnetic-circuit.jpg\" alt=\"Magnetic circuit\" width=\"248\" height=\"159\" \/><\/p>\n<ul style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<li>In a magnetic circuit, the magnetic flux is due to the presence of a magnetomotive force same as in an electric circuit, the current is due to the presence of a electromotive force.<\/li>\n<li>The mmf is created by a current flowing through one or more turns.<br \/>\nMMF=Current \u00d7 Number of turns in the coil<br \/>\nf=MMF = NI (ampere-turns) or (ATs)<\/li>\n<li>The magnetic flux \u03c6 may be defined as the magnetomotive force per unit reluctance.<br \/>\n\u03c6= MMF\/Reluctance<br \/>\nwhere reluctance in magnetic circuit is similar as resistance in electric circuit.<\/li>\n<li>The opposition offered to the magnetic flux is called reluctance.<br \/>\nRl= l\/\u03bcA (AT\/wb)<\/p>\n<p>where,<\/p>\n<p>l=length of the magnetic path<br \/>\nA=area of cross-section normal to flux path, m2.<br \/>\n\u03bc=\u03bc0\u22c5\u03bcr = permeability of the magnetic material<br \/>\n\u03bcr =relative permeability of the magnetic material<br \/>\n\u03bc0=permeability of free space = 4\u03c0 \u00d7 10<sup>\u20137<\/sup> H\/m.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The permeance of a magnetic circuit is the reciprocal of its reluctance.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">P= 1\/Rl<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Reluctances in a magnetic circuit obey the same rules as resistances in an electric circuit.
