Despite US sanctions on Iran, India continues to import oil from Russia amid growing global pressure.<\/li>\n<li>Since 2018, the port has handled over 90,000 TEUs (twenty-foot equivalent unit) of container traffic and more than 8.4 million metric tons of cargo.<\/li>\n<li>The earlier sanctions have led to a significant decline in India\u2019s trade with Iran. In 2018-19, India\u2019s imports from Iran were worth $13 billion, primarily crude oil. However, post-2019, imports fell to less than\u00a0$1 billion\u00a0annually.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h4 style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>About Chabahar Port<\/strong><\/h4>\n<ul style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<li>Iran\u2019s Chabahar port\u00a0is located on the\u00a0Gulf of Oman\u00a0and is the only oceanic port of the country.<\/li>\n<li>It is situated in the city of Chabahar in Sistan and Baluchestan Province.<\/li>\n<li>Chabahar has two ports;\u00a0Shahid Kalantari and Shahid Beheshti.<\/li>\n<li>The former is an old port with limited water front to accommodate feeder vessels.<\/li>\n<li>The Shahid Beheshti Port is being developed in four phases.
