{"id":1728,"date":"2024-07-15T14:57:20","date_gmt":"2024-07-15T09:27:20","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/study.madeeasy.in\/?p=1728"},"modified":"2025-07-16T15:07:55","modified_gmt":"2025-07-16T09:37:55","slug":"fish-plates","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.madeeasy.in\/study\/ce\/railway-engineering\/fish-plates","title":{"rendered":"Fish Plates"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Fishplates are used in rail joints to maintain the continuity of the rail.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The main objective of fish plates is to keep the adjoining ends of the rail in correct position both in horizontal and vertical planes.<\/li>\n<li>Fish plates should be designed for the following purposes:<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ol style=\"list-style-type: lower-roman;\">\n<li>To bear the stresses due to lateral and vertical bending without getting distorted.
