The Department of Expenditure, Ministry of Finance, has agreed to a proposal from the Ministry of Railways to create 5,664 new posts in Level 6 and Level 7 across various departments. As per the official notification, the Ministry of Finance has approved the creation of 5,664 posts spread across Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Signal & Telecommunication (S&T), Traffic (Operating), Traffic (Commercial) and Stores departments. Of these, 2,292 posts belong to Level 6 and 3,372 posts belong to Level 7. This is a strong signal that Indian Railways Recruitment activity will pick up pace in the coming months.<\/span><\/p>\n

That leaves 1,456 posts for the non-engineering side (Traffic Operating, Traffic Commercial and Stores). This large-scale creation of Junior Engineer, Senior Engineer, Station Master and Commercial Superintendent posts is good news for anyone preparing for exams under RRB JE<\/a><\/strong>, RRB SSE and RRB NTPC categories.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Surrender of 10,939 Posts<\/b><\/h2>\n

Along with creating new posts, the note also advised the Additional Member (AM) to abolish 10,939 posts that are being surrendered from various zones. These include Central Railway, East Coast Railway, Eastern Railway, Northern Railway, Western Railway and others. These surrendered posts fall under Levels 1 to 5 and include designations like General Assistants, Technicians, Commercial Clerks and Junior Stenographers. This is part of the Railways\u2019s broader move to reallocate resources towards supervisory-level roles.<\/span><\/p>\n
