The Indian Administrative Services (IAS) was formed in the year of 1946 and its cadre controlling authority is Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances &Pension and Department of Personnel & Training. The cadre size is 5159posts. IAS plays a major role in managing the bureaucracy of both the Central Government and the State Governments, with its officers holding strategic posts across the country.
